Thinking things through - Little Lab? Faust? others?

Hmmm. A great logical thought!!! Allisabovelove has been immersed in this to exhaustion for some time. I started a "constipation compendium" for her about a year back? I am about ten pages into a good BM but now I see how facts need to be in context. I.e. Enzo's poopedium. Maybe Heidikk's...

I used an E Cig today, I'm a bit worried

Thanks for the information. I do understand that the cartridges are multiple use. The deceptive element to this is 1 e-cig cartridge = 1 normal cigarette, right? NOT!!! But guess who's thinking that e-cigs are supposed be one for one? Yah every person who doesn't really want to know. LL

I used an E Cig today, I'm a bit worried

I re-read your e-cig topic post. The small print on the box of nicotine cartridges, usually four, are the eqivelent of two cartons of cigarette of their stongest blend. That "puff" was a good portion of a cigarette. A whole cartridge is 100 regular cigs man!!! LL

Is there such a thing as too many enzymes?

Perfect food/insulin used to the only regiment to sustain a diabetic. Sometimes I think doctors and patients should endeavor to get the numbers right. Maybe not weighing your food to the gram by type like old insulin regements, but if somebody took the time, I feel we would feel a lot better. I...

I used an E Cig today, I'm a bit worried

Just like CF is a genetic condition, addictive potential is in your genes. Think of the most pathetic person and likely he/she has one or more addictions. Nicotine, downers, uppers, alcohol, meth, crack, sugar, fat and salt are as habit forming as water. Enzo, you have great curiosity and will...

    Coughing up blood?

Yep, there are some active CFers who cough up blood daily so hemoptysis is common. That doesn't mean you don't report it to your pulmo but you can put terror on hold. My first hemoptysis was a realllly big clot, filling my palm. It was more than disconcerting. Clots in the lung seem to minor to...

If my stools are good, does that mean I'm digesting all of my food?

Enzo, You have a great start with observing medicines that smell horrible all the way to the end dogs seem to go for first. When Phydough , my French poodle, sees a new animal she has already assessed it with her powerful nose. So what on earth is Phydough doing when she jumps up on the bed and...

    Where do I turn??

John O, Hey, sorry I noticed you had some thumb downs. I fear I might be one in error. I gave you what I expected to add one thumb's up but on my mobile it appeared down. You had a great post and worthy of several 'at a boys and maybe that feature isn't as reliable as we expect. A love for life...

My pills taste and smell horrible

I guess that's why it's called medicine. And yes enzymes stink, lots of stuff does including you probably. People who's primay intake of protein smell quite different depending on if they take fish, red meats or vegan. I traveled to the orient when we used to call asia "the orient". Being from...

    Help, please!

I expect today’s CF post is about to hit so I’ll make this short. Short for me at least. Unless your nephew has made statements to the effect that he feels invincible, this might be a memory of your youth. More than likely your mother told you that you seemed to act as though you were invincible...

    Trying to rid PA!

A sick baby and your sick baby are quite different due to CF. For everything holistic you are withholding I hope you are feeding baby with mother's milk. I know too much about holistic AND conventional AMA type medicine to fall for a lot of medical fiction from both diciplines. Hope the battle...

incontinence. dont be afraid to admit to it

I am not aware of incontinence being characteristic in CF. Does anybody know this issue is higher than in the general population? I can thoroughly relate to an abdominal issue causing incontinence and CF presents about every abdominal issue in the book. I have been following some post topics...

    Hemoptysis

I can really relate to that “freaked out” sensation. Especially your accurately described “nearly a cup” of blood!!! Even when we understand and are prepared for something like coughing up a lot of blood, it is little consolation when it happens to you. I didn’t even know what an hemoptysis was...

If I were to do a high protein/fat crash diet, would that be ok?

Not every weight issue involving CF is being underweight. It is admirable to want the best possible body in the best possible shape. I have no idea if a diet is going to be effective. Protein diets, sometimes along with exercise or medicine to jump start your metabolism causes the body to start...

Does this happen to your child

I don't think it's anybody's imagination. I am thinking back to the twenty some years I was living on antibiotics and every kid, including me, was a germ bag. It may have no correlation but we often are infected first by a virus before a bacterial infection takes hold. Antibiotics shouldn't...

I'm a little confused with what happens when I don't take my pills

I'm with SoyaSause on the enzyme trade off. You need a better way to approach your weight loss plans. Thank you for raising the issue of CF and more than optimum body fat percentage. I think another post assumed your weight problem was on the low side as I did upon reading. I am terribly...

    Vertex drugs and pancreatic function

Knowitall, Don't be too quick to dismiss Printer's answers. The leading CFGI researcher you would deride as a "moron" has advanced the science of treating GI problems in CF patients especially the pancreas's function. Bill and I amongst many others met this polymath who was encountering many...

    balking at higher salt dose

Soyasause, and anybody else who isn’t convinced too much salt is too much for anybody. Thanks for reading my post and bringing up the interesting thoughts. This is my first shot at due diligence. It's thin, but give me time. Chloride ion channels seem to be the issue with regard to salt. CF is...

    Smoking Pot/RSO Oil

Burnnator420, It's good to see you back, sorry to hear about the auto accident. As for getting tested you are right, it's time. Hopefully you have followed the topic posts involving CF tests over the last year or so. A sweat chloride test is simple, low tech and confirms CF. Have this test but...
