I take Alavert for my seasonal allergies. It's Loratidne just like Claritin, but it dissolves in the mouth and just seems to work better for me. I am also on flonase for my allergies and sinuses. My CF clinic also said that I can take benadryl when I'm incredibly symptomatic even though it affects breathing, because it's better for me to be able to sleep and function then have my mucus dried a little. I have pretty severe allergies to grass pollen and I live in the valley where 90% or so of the WORLD'S grass seed is produced, so I feel you in the allergy department.

I take Claritin. I am on it right now for severe allergies. It dries out my throat a bit-- water helps that.

Craig takes Desloratadine, but medicines on either side of the Atlantic sometimes have different names. So this may not be called this in the US.

If Amy is around still (sakasuka)or is it ( noexcuses)?????, i'm sure she has either blogged about this or spoke about this subject before, she is a pharmacueticla rep and knows quite a bit about meds.

You can't take antihistamines I don't think. For allergy you can take either Zyrtec, Claritan or Allegra and for cold you can take Sudafed and Afrin.
