Thanks Emily, I always do Chey's once a day things at night too, but not her pulmozyme and I would like to...not only for the ease of remembering it but we have more time at night...it is hard enough to get everyone around and ready for school with doing that too..lol..

Thanks for all the responses. There r def a lot more people doing it twice a day than I thought there would be. I have seen no benefit from pulmozyme in the little over a year my son has been on it, but also no negitive things. I'm not sure why he was not on it beofre that,, and only put on it after I asked about him doing it. And if there is reasearch saying twice a day for FEVs over 75% I am going to ask about him doing it twice a day.

Also, we were always told that it was best if done in the morning, because that is after u just slept and mucus settles more, but we always did it religiously at night to, cause there was more time for it, and at least we were doing it

I do my pulmozyme once a day in the morning, Id rather get it done and do less at night. I had done pulmozyme twice one time and that was before I knew that I was suppose to take it once a day.

Too funny -- we were told the opposite. To do it at night before bed 'cuz the pulmozyme stays in the lungs longer and works better. More convenient for us to do it late at night 'cuz before and after work/preschool we're more pressed for time. Especially if he's on Tobi.

I have also been told to do Pulmo in the AM...cuz sometimes it makes you cough and that way you can get the stuff up and it WONT be just sitting there in your lungs once you do the pulmo.

Also...if your son is in a medical trial, there could be different reasons that they do the drug three times a day. I am in a study too, and I got the short stick and also have to do my drug (aztreonam) three times a day. If its in the trial stages, its probably because they are trying to regulate a dose. They told me when I started my trial that some ppl got two and some ppl got three times a day. Also that helps to see if there is a difference between taking three and taking two a day, so that when the drug comes out they will be able to again, regulate the dose. They wont want to give a prescription for three times a day when only two will suffice or vice versa...if two wont suffice, they want to know that three will.

PS--I have PFT's higher than 75% but I do Pulmo only once a day...if I am sick I do it twice a day.
