having a cold

Vitamins A and E can kill some virii. So can olive leaf extract. I also shower, immediately wash my clothes, irrigate my sinuses, and wash my bedding/sleep area. I have read that if your PH balance is in the right range, it is harder for virii to get a foothold and I do get fewer colds since working on that. The colds I get these days are usually knocked out readily, usually within 12 hours of getting home after an exposure.

You can always try chicken soup. Yes, it sounds silly and old fashion, but bear with me.
It was recently proven at UCLA School of Medicine and at the Nebraska University that is actually very effective against colds and sore throats. They said it has anti-inflammatory properties and some amino-acids and many of its ingredients helped stop the movement of neutrophils (these stimulate the release of mucous, which may be the cause of the coughs and stuffy nose caused by upper respiratory infections such as colds).
And they even tested comercial brands, of which Knorr's Chicken Noodle and Campbell's were the most effective.
BUt you know what they say, a cold treated lasts seven days and untreated lasts a week...

Hi.

This is what I do:

Avoid cold medicine and blow my nose constantly. I try to keep my nose clear at all times even if I have to go through two boxes a day.
Sinus flushes with salt water while I am in the shower.
Rest. I do a minimal amount of work when I have a cold- and I try to sleep extra long.
I boil a pot of water put a drop of oil of oregano- tent it with a towel and breathe it in.
Airborne- I take extra vitamins and airborne while I am sick.
Stay away from sugar (& other junk) - don't eat candy while you are sick.... it will just weaken you.
Extra breathing treatments. I do duoneb and my vest three times a day while i am sick. (Make sure it's okay with your doc- my clinic tells me to do extra when I need to)

Hope you feel better soon!
