i'm assuming you are talking about unc chapel hill? if so that's where i go...i'm still fairly new to it, but it seems like a good place to go. they all seem to be pretty well educated about cf. i haven't had a bad experience yet with them. i've even had the opportunity to allow them to pull some of my blood for some type of research they were doing. i don't know anything about john hopkins though.

Absolutely LOVED UNC (so much that we are considering moving back to NC just to go there!). Their nurse coordinator is so awesome. The doctors are really up on what is going on and really seem to care about their patients.

Don't know about JH, so I can't compare, but I know that UNC is great.

i love UNC. i have gone there for about 10 years, since i moved to NC from MI.

i have always been happy with UNC and liked the fellows and attending physicians. recently, i have gotten MORE involved in my CF care, more aggressive at treating infections, and i've been so happy to see the staff mirror my behavior from the treatment standpoint.

i am also incredibly impressed at the amount of communication that goes on between the staff and doctors. these people talk to each other, stay on top of what is going on with the patients, and do something when they say they are going to! really top notch.

anyway, feel free to PM me with further questions.

good luck!

i've been to unc for cf care almost my whole life and can't say enough good things about them! having been taken care of by both the pediatric docs and adult docs through the years, i've never had a bad interaction with them. the nurse coordinator for the adult cf side is AMAZING as are the doctors. they are always doing research and so there are plenty of opportunities to participate in studies for new cf meds etc. i've participated in the peds ibuprophen study, pulmozyme, aztreonam, hypertonic saline, and a bunch of others that were not for specific meds but were testing other things that would be beneficial to cfers.
