Sounds like a blown blood vessel from coughing...Use to get that a lot when I had coughing fits...

So if you have been coughing more lately and the real coughing your guts up kinda cough, then I would say that that is your cause!

Your body will just absorb the blood providing nothing else is going on.

Coughing is the source. I too would get this after one of my long hard coughing spells. Many people with CFRD get this because the blood vessels in the eyes are weaker. The blood will absorb and go away but in the mean time try to be protective of your eyes. I wore sun glasses, partially to guard them from the sun and partially too hide the red eye <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-blush.gif" border="0">).
