Nose bleeds

M is having nosebleeds now. In my hemophilia son, nosebleeds are almost always because he's been picking his nose. And, I have seen M picking his nose a time or two but not really significantly. He's having a trickle of blood at least a couple times a day now. Dh says he's watched and it seems to come after a hard coughing fit.

Do I need to call his CF doctors about this? Does it matter that they are in the process of getting a 2 week hospital stay set up? Could we addres it when we get there?

Halfway through his Tobi this morning, he got another trickel all over his face.

DS tends to have sinus issues and is also a nose picker, but he's never really had any issues with bleeding. Just a little blood mixed in with his nasal mucus. I do notice when he's on tobi, he tends to get a little more of a stuffy nose and tends to pick more often. He's been on tobi for the past 3 weeks and I've started doing neil med sinus washes every night or so and have gotten some nasties out and I notice he's been snoring.

Maybe post in the adult section since you're not getting much response here.

Does he have allergy problems? My son gets nosebleeds when he is having trouble with allergies. I would mention it to his doctor.

I too would mention it to the doc, even if they are setting up a 2 week tune-up currently. They may want to add a sinus CT to everything else that they are planning. I know that the sinus's tend to bleed easier when they need to be cleaned out with my son. Things are probably all swallen in the nasal passageways so when he coughs the blood vessels are breaking easier. It may or may not be significant, but it still warrants being mentioned to the doc.
