Having trouble sleeping

Hi all. I was wondering if anyone could help me out with this. For the past year or so I have had trouble sleeping off and on. Some nights, I sleep like a baby and have no problems. Other nights (which seems like about 50% of the time), I wake up around half way through the night with trouble breathing. It feels like I can only access like 10% of my lung capacity and that all my airways are closed. Using albuterol helps and opens me up so I can actually sleep, but it's disrupting my sleep schedule a lot because I always have to wake up in the night.

My FEV1 is around 115%, so it isn't an issue otherwise, just at night. If anyone has had the same issue and has solved it please help me out!

Thanks a ton.

The best advise I can give is what has helped me in the past and currently. Pulmocort is good to inhale before bed after all treatments to keep you open. Keep your head as elevated as possible, humidifiers help and also keepin the room cool. Do not take Tylenol pm or aids like that because for me it affects my breathing and I would always wake up feeling "tight" and restricted. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the response! I have never tried pulmocort but maybe it's something I could bring up on my next checkup. I'll also try keeping my head elevated to see if that helps, I haven't really thought of it.

This seems like a "panic attack". Do you experience stress or anxiety? Are you having nightmares? Im having trouble sleeping lately too. Im going to bed and thoughts keep running through my head. I think of a zillion of things and i cant sleep.
I think we should both relax. Dont ask me how. But i definitely think think your problem has a psychological source.
