Does anyone know what became of the drug Lynovex?

I was looking through the Forums and came across Chris Baldwin's blog that talked about a new drug called Lynovex and that it was a mucolyctic and targets biofilms. Does anyone know what happened with this drug or if it is available now?

Thank you Jaimers! I always appreciate your responses. You are so thoughtful to everyone. I had also googled it but came up with a different site. I had read it was an "orphan" drug but how many phases does it have to go through before it is approved? It sounds better and different than pulmozyme, right?

Yeah it supposed to target biofilms which in my very basic understanding are this sort of "shield" that bacteria colonies form around themselves. The biofilms are extremely difficult for antibiotics to penetrate so it helps to protect the bacteria from being killed. I can't remember exactly but It looks like lynovox is able to break up or penetrate the biofilm which makes the bacteria more accessible and susceptible to antibiotics. Pseudomonas is a bacteria that forms biofilms so this would really help in the fight against PA!
here is a link to a journal article about the research.

Yes Jaimers that would be wonderful if that drug can do that. From what it says it would be beneficial for antibiotics to be able to get in to all types of bacteria including pseudomonas and cepacia. I don't know how long it takes for a drug to go through trials though to finally be approved and available to people with CF? I appreciate your responses all the time. We are blessed to have you on this forum.
