My daughter is starting college in the fall and will be living in a dormitory. Current and former college students: how did you manage your therapy? Did you have a roommate? How did you clean and sterilize your equipment? My daughter uses one nebulizer and one sinus rinse bottle every day, and does the vest once a day. We're just trying to figure out how she'll be able to wash and sterilize her equipment, living in the dorm. She also would like to have a roommate, but doesn't know how or if that will work out. Thanks for your input.

I'm a freshmen now! I have a single on a floor of doubles. we all share a community bathroom. If i did it again I would request to be in a suite where there were three doubles connected to a common room and bathroom, but ask to have my room be a single.

Also, my residence hall has a kitchen so i put my nebs through the dishwasher. However, they sell microwavable racks that sterilize babybottles and I plan to get one of those for next year when I dont have a kitchen to use.

As for the nose rinse, I do that too. And, I've found a private bathroom to use, however I usually just do it in my community bathroom. I found out about half way through the year that like 5 of the girls on my floor do the same thing for their allergies, so I wasnt alone.

I would definitly reccomend getting a single. It helps a lot for privacy, you get more done, and its a great conversation starter lol.

Also, as I am in this battle myself right now, make sure the residence life is accomidating. You may need a doctors note for a medical single. Ask to have filters put on the vents and anything else you may need. I bought a hepa filter for my room too that fits under my bed but the spout is above it so i have clean air when i sleep.

Hope this helps. Feel free to message me with any questions.
