balancing work. school. and my health

i find it so difficult now to balance all aspects of my life.
obviously the most important is my health but its so hard to keep that up when your working 28-32 hours a week and going to college full time.
not to mention im in a relationship which ive been in for a year and 3 months.

i cant seem to find time to get enough sleep or enough time to relax when its needed.
i get tired so easily and dont feel like doing much anymore because im so busy all the time.
its homework or school or work.
and then i try to balance my relationship, thank god i have an amazing boyfriend who finds time to see me when i can see him.
hes the best thing to have happend to me.

does anyone else have this problem or is it just me?
any suggestions?
because i have to go to school full time to stay on my parents insurance and i obviously want my degree.
oh btw i want to be a registered nurse but not necessarily in a hospital setting.
i know i know sicker?
i dont know.
suggestions needed please.
uhmm also any things that you do to handle the stress?
also how can i find time to eat more healthily when i dont have much time?

all would be greatly appreciated.
thanks.

It is extremely tough to balance all aspects of life as a CFer...when I was trying to do school, work, and living on my own, I found it very difficult. You could possibly apply for SSI until you graduate. That would help with some of the financial burden. Also, it will get easier when you're out of school. That is many many hours a week.

As far as food goes, all I can suggest is making a huge meal Sunday night and freezing it in separate containers to eat throughout the week. For instance, sometimes I'll boil a ton of chicken breast and veggies to eat each day of the week. Sure it can get boring,, but it saves on time. Also, protein shakes are a quick and easy way to get in calories with not much time.

I've known other CFers who were doctors and nurses so I know that it is possible. I would personally avoid a hospital setting because of all the MRSA. Maybe Home Health?

Good luck with everything. Try to make a schedule that you stick to and streamline stuff as much as possible.

i understand how you feel....i just finished college (after 5 years) this past may and i felt so accomplished! for me, i had to cut back the hours i took every semester to the minimum i could take and still be considered a full time student, which for me was 12 semester hours. i did work some, only about 10-15 hours per week though, if that much. is there anyway you can cut back your work time? or your # of classes/hours? i know with nursing there are a lot of specific things to be done class-wise and also with clinicals and such but maybe you could talk to your advisor or the head of the dept. and just explain the situation and see what options there are.

one thing that took SO much stress off me and that i should have looked into prior to my senior year was the disability services at my college. they handle everything from my/our situations to ADD stuff, etc. everything really.....where i went to school they were part of the academic advising center so i would look into that at your school and see what options there are. essentially they made it ok for me to take more time on tests, or take them later, miss classes when necessary, have extensions on assigments when i was sick, etc. and my professors HAD to let me have the accomodations (but all of them were very happy to work with me). so i would recommened checking that out....

sleep, as i'm sure you know, is very important to give your body time to recouperate and recharge from the day. i found that in college when i wasn't getting enough sleep for long periods of time that i got sick much quicker and had a much more difficult time recovering from it.

there are several women on this forum that are nurses so i'm sure they'll be able to give you some good advice on pursuing that field.

i have no relationship advice, sorry!

One thing I used to do was take plastic containers into the dining halls in my purse, and get an extra plate of stuff, and sneak it into the containers. That way I had something to eat later on, and it was something with some nutritional value instead of just a granola bar. I'm not sure if you'd be able to pull that off, but I know that saved me a lot of weight loss, and gave me some increased energy. =)

As far as the relationship goes, just keep telling him how amazingly awesome he is!!! =)
