    Insurance with no job

Does he have the option to Cobra his insurance though his job? I would think that would be the cheapest option.

PLEASE READ - I really need help

I would call the CF center and tell them how sick you are and see if they can fit you in somehow. Or maybe you can find another CF center that is also closeby that will see you quickly? And just like Jenn said, maybe get in to see a GP too. The other option is to go to the ER and see if they'll...

    Cayston shortage???

Yes, I saw an article that there was a shortage of Cayston. They were saying that it was just for "new" Cayston users and those that had been on it regularly would be able to continue it. I'm not sure what their requirements are, but it just stinks. I am not sure if I'll be able to order mine...

    thoughts on school

I went to public school my entire life and LOVED it. I am so glad that I went through the public school system because it gave me a sense of normalcy and I was able to be involved in all of the things that most other kids do (after-school activities, sports, etc). I had quite an easy time in...

What are our real PFT numbers

Hi Alisha, I have this problem right now too between two clinics and it freaks me out. At my Cleveland clinic, I sit around 85% FEV1. Since I've been living out East and going to a clinic here in Boston, my FEV1 is more at like a 95%. I have even gone back to the Cleveland clinic about once...

Just for fun but CF related - Real things doctors have said to me in the hospital

I took my newborn son to the pediatrician's office for the first time back in 2008. They had some paperwork for his family history, etc. The M.D. browsed the paperwork and saw CF positive for me and said, "Oh, you're a CF carrier then?" I said, "No, I have CF. So I know that my son is a...

    CFRD and hypoglycemia

I do not have CFRD yet, but I have hypoglycemic episodes constantly. I resort to using glucose tabs quite often because I'm on the go and do not have food on me, and I do not go anywhere without them. I know it has a lot to do with my poor diet - I have two little kids and work full time, so...

Now that VX770 is FDA approved...

I am also interested in hearing how Kalydeco works for the G551Ders. Hopefully people will post on the difference it's made for them once they've been on it. I know that there will likely be some issues with insurance coverage, etc, but I'm sure there will be some who are on it right away...
