I keep waking up coughing because I my throat tickles! Its so annoying! I am not coughing up much mucus so I don't think an infection is brewing. But being that I am trying to recover from my appendectomy this hurts and I need my sleep! What do you guys do for a tickly throat? Taking few sips of ice water helps but I am looking for prevention here! HELP!

I would say try throat drops...not cough drops. I don't know what else to tell ya sorry. Drinking alot may help. There is probably something little stuck in there that just needs to get out. Like a hair or something? Beats me! Sorry it's keeping you from sleeping!!!!

You could grab that freezy stuff. It comes either in a spray or you can grab the lozenges... Sucrets, I think? It just numbs your throat so you can't feel the tickle.

I get that unbelievably annoying tickle a lot of the time also. I usually just take a cough drop and hope it just goes away. Drinking helps while you are drinking, but once you stop.... it comes right back. I asked my Dr. about this a while ago and she told me there are nerves from our lungs that go to the throat and this is what is causing the tickle.
