Mask vs. reg nebulizer attachment and TOBI

Here's a question.. do you guys use a mask or regular nebulizer attachement (just the mouthpiece) when doing treatments?
I've always just used the mouthpiece, but recently started to use a PARI mask that you just snap the attachment into so that
my hands would be totally free to do whatever I needed to do while treatmenting (whether it meant the ease of turning
the page of a book or typing on my laptop as i'm doing right now).. I was wondering if there were pros or cons to the mask?
ie - the medication is being exposed to my lips/mouth -- will this cause dry skin or any other kind of funky infection? For some
reason, the mask works so much better for me..

Just curious..

Hi,

as far as I know, you get more of all the medicine into your lungs with the mouthpiece. With the mask, breathing through your nose, some of it "gets stuck" there...

I have an adapter that allows my neb. to be attatched to my vent, so I think it alll goes into my lungs. The nice thing...it totally bybasses my mouth so no bad tastes! Hugs, Jenn <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

Well... I was wondering is it such a bad thing to do....because I know I have in the past used the mask for doing my treatments....I don't currently..but when my sinuses start to act up... I will use the mask with an extra treatment of pulmozyme or mucyomist... it gets my sinuses draining real fast.....

I also have a special neb from an ENT that is a sinus neb that specifically goes up the nose to get meds there so... who knows...
