I am studying genetic counseling and I was just hoping to get some feedback from real people and families about your experiences with genetic counselors or the process of genetic counseling. My clinic gave me genetic counseling as soon as I could make babies (13?). They discussed partner carrier testing, invitro and pgd (although may not have been fda approved at this time). They also did the diagramming to help us understand my first cousins chance of being carriers. The information early helped me to make informed decisions later without irratic emotion.
