Altera vs Eflow for Aztreonam.....

I currently use the eflow for 5 aerosolized medications and have signed up for Aztreonam. It is my understanding that I will get the Altera inhalation device for the Aztreonam.

Are Altera and Eflow the same thing?

Do I really need both devices for my soon to be 6 treatments?

Thanks in advance...

I believe they are the same thing...but maybe it would be good to have a second neb cup with so many meds. It might also be that the mouth piece or metal head are slightly different. Either way I think it would be good for you to have this 'extra' device.

Thanks for taking the time to respond to my post.

Maybe I can clarify my question.

Can I use just the eflow for all 6 treatments?

What you are calling the eflow is now called the Trio device. Eflow is the name of the technology and both the Trio and the Altera use the eflow technology. The difference between the two devices is that the Altera is specifically made for AZLI. The head and nebulizer cup as well as the machine are specialized for the particle size of AZLI, so using would use the Altera for AZLI. Trio is general purpose and can be used for other CF meds as prescribed by a doctor.
