    Ever since I got switched from kids to adults I haven't been admitted I do home IV's.  You can tell your doctor I want them They can't deny you.

    My suggestion is lots of fluids, tons of extra rest, and maybe some cipro so it won't spread from sinuses to lung (mine always did best to catch it early), o yeah and hand sanitizer or hand washing even if they are already sick.
